Business Growth Planning

As well as accounting and tax filing, we also like to support our clients to grow their business.

Growth planning is a process of looking closely at your business, reviewing it’s current position and where you plan to take it in the next one to two years. This can take the format of a formal document which can be used for the purpose of gaining funds. Alternatively it can be an informal guide, that you can refer back to in order to see where you are going and if objectives are being met.

A growth plan is normally separated into yearly quarters, at the end of which a review can be done to see what goals have been met and what were missed. You can then evaluate the situation and update the plan.

The main objective of a growth plan is to outline how your business plans to grow and increase profit. This can be done by looking where costs can be cut, finding ways of working more efficiently and of course exploring how you can increase sales.

Once your plan is complete, we can help you execute this and connect you with our preferred suppliers and contacts in order to maximise success.

👍 Benefits of a Growth Plan

  • It is easy to get caught up in the day to day running of your business, by creating a growth plan it gives you time to take a break and look at how the business is performing.
  • Having a plan to regularly refer back to can help motivate you and also keeps you on track.
  • When working inside of a business it can be hard to see things that are obvious to others, it is always good to have an external view and a sounding board for new ideas.
  • Formal growth plans are a great way of increasing trust when looking for funding.

⭐️ Growth Plan Stages

  • We start with an audit of your current position. Looking at what you do well and what could be improved upon. This includes looking at your day to day processes, the use of technology and your costs.
  • We then look at your previous sales, to evaluate the source of these. Looking at what products, services and clients were the most beneficial and outline the breakdown of how you would like future sales to look.
  • As well as looking at how you can improve profit from current products, services and clients. We also look if there are any opportunities to diversify what you offer and if there are any other markets that you could move into.
  • After deciding upon how ideal sales should look. We use this to create personas of your potential customers. This outlines what kinds of people and companies they are and what motivates them to buy. These personas can be referred back to in all you do, so you always have your customers in mind.
  • We then review your current marketing activities and match that against these potential customer personas. Recommending how this could be improved in order to reach, convince and convert them into customers.
  • Finally if funding is required, we will assist you in researching potential loans, grants and investors and help you to create any other formal documents that are needed.

Growth Plan Costs

Unfortunately growth planning and execution has lots of elements to it, so we cannot give you clear prices until we get to know your business more.

SJP are great accountants. When they engage with you, you'll find they work "with you" as much as they work "for you". If you want all the skills of a large accountancy firm but with a family friendly approach then look no further. SJP are perfect for you.
